Moreover, the Jhalak Children’s and YA Prize specifically highlights fantasy books with black protagonists aimed at young readers.
Winners of the Jhalak Book Prize receive £1000 and a unique artwork from artists selected for the annual Jhalak Art Residency. These prizes play a pivotal role in uplifting and honoring writers of color in Britain, fostering inclusivity and diversity in literature.
