Miss Myrtle’s Garden
Miss Myrtle’s Garden blends humour and heartbreak in a tender tale of family, memory, identity, and the need for connection. At Bush theatre until July 12. ★★★★ The Stage ★★★★ Time Out Tickets: https://www.bushtheatre.co.uk/event/miss-myrtles-garden/
Miss Myrtle’s Garden is a warm, witty play about family, memory, and identity. Miss Myrtle demands potatoes and mixed spice, then grins proudly. Her overgrown Peckham garden is full of flowers—and ghosts. Her grandson Rudy moves in with his – friend – Jason. He hides his truth while juggling a Catholic school job. Meanwhile, Myrtle battles dementia and mourns her missing cat. She clashes with Eddie, her clumsy but kind neighbour. Yet slowly, comedy shifts to connection. The actors move with care and emotion. The set feels alive. Ultimately, laughter gives way to tears.
