Comedy of Errors REMIXED
Two Shakespeare-speaking twins and their Street-speaking doubles collide in London, sparking chaotic mistaken identities. At Courtyard Theatre to Dec 20th. Tickets: https://www.intermissionyouththeatre.co.uk/whats-on
Intermission Youth Theatre returns with a bold Shakespeare remix. This time, a graduate, Stephanie Badaru, directs. The story explores identity, immigration, and displacement. It uses sharp humour and fast-paced action.
Set in London, the play follows two asylum seekers fleeing conflict. They face language barriers. They confront prejudice. They endure constant confusion. Then, they meet their long-lost twins, who escaped civil war decades earlier.
Moreover, both sets of twins share the same names, which fuels chaos. Shakespearean speech collides with London Street slang.
Intermission Youth’s 10-month programme powers the cast. Many connect personally with the play’s immigration themes.
