Mimi Khalvati is an Iranian-born British poet. She was born in Tehran in 1944 and raised in the UK. She studied theatre and later turned to poetry. Her writing blends Persian and English traditions. She has published nine poetry collections. Critics praise her lyrical style and emotional depth. In 2023, she won the King’s Gold Medal for Poetry. She also co-founded The Poetry School in London. Khalvati is a Fellow of the Royal Society of Literature. Her work explores identity, memory, nature, and love with grace and precision. Jhalak Prize Judges praised the collection as “a luminous testament to a lifetime of lyrical precision, emotional depth, and formal mastery”
