Theatre Peckham’s Young, Gifted & Black season is back from 6th October to 2nd November. Now in its sixth year, it celebrates young Black British talent on stage.
Tied to UK Black History Month 2024’s theme, “Reclaiming Narratives,” the season uncovers hidden stories. It also honours unsung heroes and highlights everyday individuals who have shaped our communities.
This year, co-producers Lara Grace Ilori and Joshua Aketse-Entsie bring fresh energy. Lara, a South London actor and writer with Nigerian roots, is passionate about stories from the African diaspora. Meanwhile, Joshua, with his Ghanaian background, adds a dynamic touch. Together, they push creative boundaries and inspire others in the theatre world.
CEO/Artistic Director Suzann McLean MBE says, “This season amplifies the stories of our community. These creators and performers are essential, and we are proud to provide a platform for them.”
