In I Dream of Theresa May, Nikhil, a gay Indian man in London, fears being forced to leave the UK. He meets his unlikely mentor: former Prime Minister Theresa May. She offers to help him stay — but only if he meets her strict standards. The play takes place in 2013, during harsh immigration policies. It blends satire with surreal nightmare. Moreover, it explores identity, belonging, and power. Ultimately, it reveals what it means to be a “model British citizen.”
