People of Theatre Magazine
People of Theatre is not your typical theatre magazine. It’s radical, independent, and rooted in community. A platform for those tired of shallow, fast-paced media. It is now in print and free (just pay postage). Visit: https://membership.peopleoftheatre.com/
You won’t find celebrity interviews, industry gossip, or dull reviews. Instead, it offers space for deep, honest conversations led by artists, writers, and scholars pushing boundaries. Each issue explores themes like class, race, queerness, power, joy, and grief through theatre, dance, and performance. It’s thoughtful, challenging, and real. It prioritises care, connection, and critical reflection.
Writers, artists, and scholars are invited to pitch bold work that goes beyond headlines. Pieces can include essays, creative writing, photography, visual art, and experimental or hybrid formats. Topics should connect with performance and expand into politics, ecology, mental health, queerness, activism, and more. This is not a space for reviews — it’s for fresh voices and radical ideas. Both new and established contributors are welcome. Fees range from £100–£250 per piece. If you’re ready to challenge norms and create meaningful work, this space is for you. Submit your pitch and join the conversation.
